🔒 ProtonMail Forwarding Setup
Automatically forward subscription emails from ProtonMail to Duely
⭐ Premium Feature
Email forwarding with filters requires a ProtonMail Plus or higher plan. Free ProtonMail accounts have limited filter capabilities and cannot forward emails to external addresses.
- Go to mail.proton.me and sign in
- Click the ⚙️ gear icon in the top right corner
- Select All settings from the dropdown
- In the left sidebar, find the Mail section
- Click on Filters
- You'll see your existing filters (if any) and options to create new ones
💡 Tip: ProtonMail calls these "Sieve filters" - they're powerful rules that can match complex conditions.
- Click Add filter button
- Enter a name:
Forward Subscriptions to Duely
- You'll see the filter conditions builder
Configure the filter to match subscription emails:
Condition Setup
- Set the match type to: "If ANY of the following conditions apply"
- Add these conditions (click "Add condition" for each):
- Subject contains
subscription
- Subject contains
renewal
- Subject contains
receipt
- Subject contains
billing
- Subject contains
invoice
Alternative: Filter by Sender
You can also create filters based on specific senders:
- Sender contains
netflix.com
- Sender contains
spotify.com
- Sender contains
apple.com
- Sender contains
amazon.com
- In the Actions section, click Add action
- Select "Send to" (this forwards the email)
- Enter your Duely forwarding email:
your-unique-id@inbound.getduely.app
- Optionally, add another action: "Keep" to also keep the email in your inbox
- Click Save to create the filter
⚠️ Important: Make sure to select "Send to" (not "Move to"). "Send to" forwards to external addresses, while "Move to" only works with ProtonMail folders.
For more control, you can use ProtonMail's Sieve filter language. Click "Add Sieve filter" and paste this code:

📝 Note: Replace your-unique-id@inbound.getduely.app with your actual Duely forwarding email. The :copy flag keeps the original in your inbox.
If you're on a free ProtonMail plan, you can still use Duely by manually forwarding emails:
- Open a subscription email in ProtonMail
- Click the Forward button (arrow icon)
- Enter your Duely forwarding email address
- Click Send
💡 Tip: Add your Duely email to your contacts for quick access when forwarding.
- Use Sieve for complex rules: Sieve filters are more powerful than the basic filter UI
- Combine with labels: Add a "Subscriptions" label action to organize filtered emails
- Filter order matters: Filters are processed in order - put important filters first
- Test your filter: Send yourself a test email with "subscription" in the subject
- Check Spam: Ensure subscription emails aren't going to spam before setting up filters
ProtonMail is known for its strong privacy features. When forwarding emails to Duely:
- Only subscription-related emails are forwarded (based on your filter rules)
- Duely only extracts subscription details (name, price, renewal date)
- Original email content is not stored after processing
- Your ProtonMail encryption protects emails until they leave ProtonMail's servers
